Day off Post: Saints, 4AM, Layout, Ice, and Tomorrow

Not feeling very well due to the Super Bowl so it's going to be a short one my Zombies!

So you'll notice that i changed the layout a little bit. Fear not though! you will still be getting the same wheat bread wholesomeness you always receive while readcing one of my epic posts.

So main reason of feeling like ass today! The Super Bowl...it started at midnight and ended at like 4 AM. We went to a bar call Bistro 7. There are a couple of photos of it in the photo album at the very beginning. We got LOUD, we talked Smack, and we made some Germans really think all Americans are crazy.

Way to Go Saints!!! Another great thing for New Orleans. After all the devastation that went on there i hope that this will lift the residents spirits a little more. I know that when me and D went to Mardi Gras it was completely booked up! The city is coming back and i believe events like this will help it become better...but What the Hell do I know?

So on my day off before feeling like complete ass i went for a walk pretty much completely around the city. I literally walked from where we are staying to the eye doc, grocery store, and then got lost trying to find the tool store. Freaking chick that has the van didn't wake up on time. so i said screw it and hoofed it. I managed to make it to the city limits before saying screw it and walking home.

While wandering around i found a pretty decent size park completely with several lakes and even bridges!!!! While walking around one of aforementioned lakes, i notice something...there have been people walking on it! I didn't realize so many people wanted to commit suicide here. It didn't look like anyone fell in so i thought i would give it a try to! That's when the thing behind my eyes speaks up...you know what i'm talking about, right? What's it called...um...the Adam's Apple? Whatever, it finally spoke to me! The words it said unto me were, "Be est thou suicidal? Is thou's life so easily thrown away??? I thinketh not!! Not while i reside in these Hollow Halls!!!"

Well...that was a nicer version. it really sounded like this,"WTF!?!? Are you freaking insane?!?!! Would you jump off a bridge if everyone else did it!? Freaking Idiot!!!"

I retorted,"Depends on the bridge, i mean did the people survive? I jumped off a bridge once and you were fine with it. I really hate the cold so i'm not going to die by it. Although would that be what they call Irony?"

After this conversation where me and the Adam's Apple thing both walk away happy, i step onto the sidewalk and fall on my ass. It was a really sweet fall too! I am pretty sure that both legs ended up in the air around my ears. I need to hire a camera guy to follow me around because you guys are missing all the weird stuff that happens to me. So in closing, ICE:1.5 - ME:0. The 0.5...i almost did it again but, caught myself. I'll get my revenge though!!! In the Spring and Summer!!!! I will be the victor in the end!!!

Time for some beer! Heard the best cure for a hangover is to stay drunk! Gotta go try it out for myself!! The Adam's Apple thing is trying for my attention again but, what does he know?

Keep it Greasy :P

End of Week 5: Thieves, Stairs, Super Bowl, Bacon, and Mayonaise

So then children!

Welcome to the end of the Worl...i mean week 5.

So then the first part will be a double topic!!! I sometimes leave my tools on the ship so i don't have to carry it up 9 flights of stairs, down 9 flights of stairs, back up 9 flights of stairs, back down 9 flights of stairs....etc. I end up doing the trip at least 5 times a day. So naturally i have come to really hate every form of stairs. As soon as i get back to the states i'm going to get into a habit of flicking off every flight of stairs i see.

So like i was saying before the wild tangent about the damn stairs, i leave my tools upstairs in a computer room. I've been doing this since i arrived. Well, after coming back from lunch i noticed something is a bit off about my back-pack. There are freaking tools missing out of the side pockets!! I figured they fell into the closet it was stashed in..nope. I figured the guy that was working in the same room as me took them as a joke..nope. So after searching my bag i find that they stole:

New Rigid Carbide drill bits - $30
New set of screw driver tips - $35
New pair of 1000v electrician snips - $20
Small socket wrench (was the coolest tool i had here) - $10

So about 90-100 dollars of tools went missing. Upon finding this out, Owen (dude i'm working with) checks his bag. Lo and Behold! He's missing 3 pairs of flush cutters. What the most interesting part of this is that there was way more expensive tools in both of our bags. Pretty much the rest of the bag was worth about another $200. The guy actually rifled through my bag and picked and chose what he wanted. I actually feel violated after finding someone has been in that bag...I FEEL DIRTY!!! Anyways, going to a tool store (one of my favorite places to go) Monday, so i'll pick some more stuff then.

Anywho, that is a really big pain in the ass. Luckily i engraved my name in the drill bit case. I find that guy, someone is going off the 11th deck...just saying, is all.

So then some good news is that there is a day off on Monday!! It is in honor of the Super Bowl, which will be playing here, it will be at midnight here so they figured everyone would be useless the next day. Which would be true mainly because everyone was talking about how drunk they were going to get last week. I'll probably catch half mainly because i really hate watching the sunrise, bleh.

Now for the food items! I've noticed that almost every item of food has at least one of the 2 ingredients. Bacon or Mayonnaise. I was eating at Mcdonald's today, just like every Sunday, and realized that not only did the sandwich i was eating have bacon on it, it had bacon bits on the bun...wow. Not only was the bacon over-killed the amount of mayonnaise on it literally caused a mini-heart attack from just looking at it.

Another topic before i get my laundry on. You have to pay for stuff you get for free, in abundance, in America. I am speaking of the condiments. A pack of Ketchup costs 0,33 euro (about 50 cents a package). What really threw me for a loop though was paying for...a Fortune Cookie!! The fortune wasn't even that good. I felt kind of cheated.

Expect another blog tomorrow. It should be interactive!!! Beer is calling and i must answer...freaking alcoholic

Keep it real...or fake...or whatever floats your boat.

Week 4: The Addendum

So then, forgot a little something last night when i was typing about the SCHNEE!!! I must have been in a hurry, beer pong was beginning and Jager was being poured.

I thought about doing the addendum last night to make it extra special as being my first drunken post too (don't worry there will be another chance). After a game of beer pong, 11 to 120 beers with 48 Jager Bombs (ok.... so the numbers aren't accurate...they are just there to make it seem like i drank a poop load) i realized that i couldn't feel my fingers anymore. So it was just a quiet night of passing out.

The real reason for the Addendum is *DRUM ROLL* that today, Saturday January 30, 2010 is my first day off........i can tell by the sudden hush that everyone is surprised. so yes my Duckies, today will be adventure day! I will embark on a magical journey through the countryside saving damsels in distress, slaying dragons, and searching for the Holy Grail. Hopefully there is a castle Anthrax...if you are confused. Fear not!!!!! There is a video tutorial below!!!!!!

I'M OFF TO THE SPANKING AND ORAL SEX!!!!

Week 4: The Schnee, a new member, electricity, and Murphy's Law

So then children, QUIET DOWN!!!! It is time for another intense story by the Scotticus. I am pretty sure that you have noticed by now i talk about what is in the title so we have 4 topics to cover and not a lot of time to do it (pretty sure everyone has something better to do with their time on the internet...especially the guys...like online shopping........)

So then kiddies, the first of order of business is the SCHNEE!!! it is a horrendous condition of the environment, one of which i am very glad i only have to see on rare occasions. We talk of course of the white menace, the frostbiter, the SNOW (cue thunder in the background)!!!!! Yeah, it snowed here...AGAIN. thankfully we were warned by the locals that it never snows here and that after the last time it wouldn't snow again...it seems like everyone who lives here just moved in or something. It's alright this time though, it actually seemed warmer today.

Now then onto the new member of my team! i am not talking about a person i have to work with, more of a new member of the food consumption team hanging out inside my mouth...(weirdest sentence i've ever typed). i got a new tooth in for some reason, bringing the total number of teeth in my mouth up to the trillions!!!! It's a little bastard and i dislike it already. Cue the dialogue song! if you don't have a dialogue song picked out by now i recommend getting one in the next 5 seconds. Time's up! Begin:

TOOTH: Yo! i have arriveded
ME: Um, wtf?
TOOTH: what does wtf mean? i just arriveded.
ME: it means What the Fuck?
TOOTH: Oh...well...what is the Fuck?
ME: your speech for starters, who says arriveded? how do you actually spell that? You actually arriving secondly, I mean you can see i have enough teeth already, right? you pretty much dead weight. Finally, you have been causing me great discomfort for the past couple of hours with all of the moving of the gums.
TOOTH: ... sorry about all that but, i'm here now! let's let bygones be bygones and get along! I know, we can have a sing along!!
ME: No
CANINE: *GROWLS*
ME: you know what last tooth? i don't like you
TOOTH: that hurts
ME: yea, well, what are you going to do about it? why not stay in that back corner of my mouth and sulk about it?!!? QUIETLY! So help me, i will not hesitate to pull a Tom Hanks on you! They sell ice skates here!!! (Castaway, for those wondering why i'm talking about Tom Hanks...movie below)
TOOTH: *whimpers and goes silent*

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE, TELL YOUR ROCK YOU'LL BE BACK LATER AND WATCH IT!!!

Now my young and agile minds, it's time for science!! When i arrived in my designated computer room a few mornings ago i noticed that there were several Germans in the room before me. Needless to say that the room was smelling a little funky. Now i'm not saying that ALL Germans smell but, the dudes that work in this yard...i don't even have a punchline or wisecrack to finish. they stank!! so i come to find out that the reason the stink brigade is in this very small enclosed room is that an A/C unit had dumped water all over this massive power supply i had installed yesterday. when i say massive i mean 120 lbs. and wider than me. Needless to say that i was the lucky fellow that got to remove it and take it down to storage. luckily we have an elevator now, no way i would have CARRIED that thing down 9 decks. i would have roped the staircase off and thrown it down...you may smile about that thinking i'm joking but, no...seriously...down the stairs. so then, after that fun was finished i got back to what i was originally supposed to do which was...install more power units!!!!!

Now we get to the science part, class!! What is water to electricity?
*SILENCE*
a conductor! good class! we are on our way to becoming engineers! Next question, if you are standing in water and touch electricity what will happen?
*CRICKETS*
you'll get electrocuted!!! very good class!!! now then you will all find a bucket of water, a fork, and a 220v outlet next to you...
*CHEERING*

So then, the whole point to this part is to say that while installing these power units. my hand got wet...you can see where this is about to go right? while reaching under the units, my hand dripped water or lightly touched an outlet box and pretty much exploded...well that's what it looked and sounded like. what ACTUALLY happened was the electricity jumped from the outlet, to the water that was on my hand, and ignited somehow. i wasn't shocked or anything. i just needed to change all of the clothes covering the lower half of my body because i shat myself...several times. My thumb turned black from the spark and there was an explosion (spark and loud noise), otherwise no damage.

That little lesson brings us to Murphy's Law and, how it pertains to me! Murphy's Law states:

"If anything can go wrong, it will"

Now then...with the crazy stuff that has been happening to me here...trust me there is a lot of stuff that i haven't written about. mainly because i don't want to look like a complete fool in front of you, the readers... ... ... Anyways, i have the new nickname of "Murphy". I know what your thinking, "that's so unfair! nothing bad ever happens to you." people like to think that the things that happen to me are bad things. the truth is that they are just freaking crazy things that happen. the finger was a bad thing, i will admit that.

life is a roller coaster, so throw your hands up and enjoy.

This is Murphy signing off. Remember kids science is fun! so stick the fork in an electrical socket today!!!! don't really but, think about it...alright don't think about it either...you know what...never mind.

This is Murphy, if your reading this, YOU ARE THE RESISTANCE!

A cold, the shopping, and a bright light

So then intrepid explorers of my mind, we meet again!

Please excuse the mess in the mind. it's a bit cluttered due to the cold i have...or do to the cold itself. it's a vicious circle...how do you get over a cold when your always cold?

Many of you will be asking, why not get some airborne?, or something to that effect. Which brings us to our next topic and a very good outline:

1) Grocery stores here aren't grocery stores. they are every type of store you would find in a mall all rolled into one. You can literally pick up a pineapple walk 6 meters forward and buy a 48" flat screen TV. oh, 6 meters is about 20ft. for you Americans... Not only that you can take this sweet inclined moving sidewalk up to the second floor and buy the following:
A) a full wardrobe
B) a pretty nice CD collection
C) contacts (which are located in the music section...don't ask me, i'm only part German)
D) Sporting equipment, including but not limited to; running shoes, ice skates, and bicycles.
E)a full selection of toys...including costumes! picked up me eye patch there mateys.
F) a laptop
G) XXX DVDs...alright i don't know if that's true i haven't walked through the whole store.

2)I just found this out today since i've never been to a pharmacy over here. they are called Apothekes or something like that.

3) i can't read German, so i might buy something like viagra, vicodin or some hallucinegenic. not that this would be a bad thing....

4) I can't speak German, you may think,"wait, i've been to Germany! they spoke Engrish when i was there!" Well, where did you stay? Was it a major city? here in Papenburg the team i'm with is kind of like a traveling circus. Almost no one speaks Engrish. do you realize what i have to go through to get a big mac at the Mcdonald's????? i have to point, make hand motions, and scream random words hoping that it passes for German!!!!!

Ok, the outline is starting confuse me. It is a good outline though, isn't it? "Who's a good outline?" i ask in my manly yet soft cuddly voice.

Last item my explorers!! You should be making your way to the Magic School Bus before it leaves!!
(Last sentence makes a lot more sense if you were in elementary school in the 90's. If you have 10 minutes to kill...don't watch the movie...find something else to do.)

Yea, i shouldn't have put it up there. I should also probably think about editing this monstrosity of a blog but, i don't! Why? because i'm a happy go lucky kind of guy, and spelling mistakes show a person's real self. Like you noticed how i spelled English, Engrish? it's because...deep down...i'm...Japanese...i know, i'm shocked too.

So my duckies we are actually onto the last time of business and i'll stay on topic like white on rice. mmmmmhhhh rice. You see? Japanese!!!!

Anyway long story short, and in haiku:
Sun Was Out Today
Very Weird Guy Wore Sun Glasses
Yeah Make Sense Of This

You see?? Japanese!!!!! let me explain it to you westerners...

So the sun was out today for the first time in 2 weeks. there was a weird guy that wore sunglasses. Make sense? Sheesh.

Oh, something for the peanut gallery:

End of Week 3 with nothing clever to say.

So then folks right down to business tonight!

No crazy side-trips. no falling into the rabbit hole to see where it leads.

It's the end of week 3 and i really have nothing to say mainly because i have been blogging in the middle of the week. I guess i'm becoming premature...?

I do have a couple of quick things to say though!!

1) Picasa, a picture program from Google, has a face recognition feature. it scans a face and you are able to save contact info and tag them on your web albums or Facebook, whatever. This feature managed to miss 3 human faces on 2 pictures...and pick up 1 statue of liberty in one photo. I mean take a look at the web-albums if you are really interested or wondering wtf? why would he talk about this.

2) after being in Germany for 3 weeks i find that there are somethings i take for granted in the U.S. of A. Mainly weather that doesn't go below 40 Fahrenheit it was around 20 here today), hot girls (i heard that this is their hibernation time), and...AND... AND! a burrito. yes folks out of all the material items i own and all the hot babes i know, yes i do know some...at least 4-5, i really miss a burrito. A BURRITO!!!! I can imagine it right now, filled with steak, guacamole, salsa, jalapenos. *Drools*.

THE WHOLE ENCHILADA ROCKS MY SOCKS IN WAYS THAT DON'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!

It's not that bad though. like for smokers the have things to take the edge off of the cravings. The main one is labeled the TURKISH PIZZA (not actual spelling of it. i can't write in German. my hair isn't blonde enough). There are pictures of the different stages of it's life below

It gets pretty ugly after this stage of life. especially while i'm stuffing it into my pie hole. here's an after the ravaging photo though:

That's it my brothers from other mothers. Beer Pong is in the future tonight...Warp Speed ENGAGE!!!
