DAY 3 CONTINUED CONTINUED

DAY 3 - 10/19/08 - 3:10PM

After running aground twice at Long Point we decided to anchor a little bit further North in between some markers where there should have been deeper water. We were going to wait for the wind to die down so that the tide would rise (up there in the InterCoastal the tide is all wind driven so the harder the wind blows the less water there is in some places).

After getting the anchor all set we ran aground again! During the anchor drill (what we called deploying the anchor. We did it a lot...) we saw some huge boats go through right where we were trying to go through. After seeing that and after we got unstuck...again, we decided to make a run through to get to Coinjock. Turns out that the 3rd time really is the charm because we got through no problemo.

Quick Side Note About The Journey:

When going through Long Point always make sure to stick close to the red markers. The channel is literally about 30ft. wide so if your off by a little you'll know about it real quick...

Back to the Main Event:

Heading to Coinjock now, i'm going to pound the beejezus out of the Prime Rib.
