End of Week 5: Thieves, Stairs, Super Bowl, Bacon, and Mayonaise

So then children!

Welcome to the end of the Worl...i mean week 5.

So then the first part will be a double topic!!! I sometimes leave my tools on the ship so i don't have to carry it up 9 flights of stairs, down 9 flights of stairs, back up 9 flights of stairs, back down 9 flights of stairs....etc. I end up doing the trip at least 5 times a day. So naturally i have come to really hate every form of stairs. As soon as i get back to the states i'm going to get into a habit of flicking off every flight of stairs i see.

So like i was saying before the wild tangent about the damn stairs, i leave my tools upstairs in a computer room. I've been doing this since i arrived. Well, after coming back from lunch i noticed something is a bit off about my back-pack. There are freaking tools missing out of the side pockets!! I figured they fell into the closet it was stashed in..nope. I figured the guy that was working in the same room as me took them as a joke..nope. So after searching my bag i find that they stole:

New Rigid Carbide drill bits - $30
New set of screw driver tips - $35
New pair of 1000v electrician snips - $20
Small socket wrench (was the coolest tool i had here) - $10

So about 90-100 dollars of tools went missing. Upon finding this out, Owen (dude i'm working with) checks his bag. Lo and Behold! He's missing 3 pairs of flush cutters. What the most interesting part of this is that there was way more expensive tools in both of our bags. Pretty much the rest of the bag was worth about another $200. The guy actually rifled through my bag and picked and chose what he wanted. I actually feel violated after finding someone has been in that bag...I FEEL DIRTY!!! Anyways, going to a tool store (one of my favorite places to go) Monday, so i'll pick some more stuff then.

Anywho, that is a really big pain in the ass. Luckily i engraved my name in the drill bit case. I find that guy, someone is going off the 11th deck...just saying, is all.

So then some good news is that there is a day off on Monday!! It is in honor of the Super Bowl, which will be playing here, it will be at midnight here so they figured everyone would be useless the next day. Which would be true mainly because everyone was talking about how drunk they were going to get last week. I'll probably catch half mainly because i really hate watching the sunrise, bleh.

Now for the food items! I've noticed that almost every item of food has at least one of the 2 ingredients. Bacon or Mayonnaise. I was eating at Mcdonald's today, just like every Sunday, and realized that not only did the sandwich i was eating have bacon on it, it had bacon bits on the bun...wow. Not only was the bacon over-killed the amount of mayonnaise on it literally caused a mini-heart attack from just looking at it.

Another topic before i get my laundry on. You have to pay for stuff you get for free, in abundance, in America. I am speaking of the condiments. A pack of Ketchup costs 0,33 euro (about 50 cents a package). What really threw me for a loop though was paying for...a Fortune Cookie!! The fortune wasn't even that good. I felt kind of cheated.

Expect another blog tomorrow. It should be interactive!!! Beer is calling and i must answer...freaking alcoholic

Keep it real...or fake...or whatever floats your boat.

Later

I hope you find your tools - I hate the dishonesty in people, it saddens me so much that people feel the need to take. I am floored that you have to pay for fortune cookies, that just aint right!!!

Hope your having fun, looking forward to seeing you when you get back
